Our panel “Celebrating the Influence of Black Women in Jazz: A Tribute to Trailblazers Yolanda Bruce and Debbie Duncan” is Wednesday, March 13 at 7pm CST (find local time)

Give Get Sistet will sing during WE WIN Institute’s Kwanzaa Celebration this Wednesday (12/13) from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Capri.

This year’s celebration is especially meaningful as we celebrate our community Aunties –  Beverly Cottman and Nothando Zulu with performances from their families and so many other wonderful artists, including WE WIN Youth, Boys & Girls Club, T. Michael Rambo, Tish Jones, Nekima Levy Armstrong and more.

Doors open at 6pm; program is from 6:30 to 8:30pm

The exhibit is part of their Community Open House and features tours of the historic Turnblad Mansion and festive galleries as well as activities, pop-up performances, bonfires, and more.

About this event

This joy-centered and multifaceted event offers Black Minnesotans a space amongst themselves to discuss the current social circumstance within the community, their role in it, and what can be done to improve the social circumstance for Black folx. There will be music, breakout spaces for small group conversations, performances, prize giveaways, and more.

Pillsbury House + Theater’s Block Party

This FREE community block party runs from 1 to 6pm, Saturday August 20th on Chicago Avenue South between 35th and 36th Streets in Minneapolis.
